why does my ipod nano keep turning off

Same story with the new iPod Nano my son gave me for Christmas. I had been struggling along with the issue of my Nano turning itself off after about a minute, turning it back on and the same thing happening over and over. I tried restoring to the original settings, reloading music and recharging the batter by keeping it on the USB cable all night. I even talked to two techs at Best Buy, a tech at Apple, and the Electronics Guru at the Sears store where I work, and everyone said it was probably defective and to return it for replacement.

The Apple guy opened a case and is senidng me a box to mail it back in. However, after casually mentioning the problem to my son via text message last night on New Year's Eve, he sent me the links to this site. I read everyones's responses and Presto! after pushing my earphones in until I heard the click, my beautiful little pink Ipod Nano is working like a charm, and yes, I too now even have radio options. So glad I talked to my BRILLIANT son who directed me to the solution to my issue and so thankful to all of you for sharing your insights.

Like you, I cannot believe no one at Best Buy or Apple seems to know about this obvioius and simple fix for a defective iPod! I thought they were supposed to be the geniuses of this world. :)
