why does my cricket broadband keep disconnecting
The IT department couldn't fix it. I started clicking the Windows icon and typing, "devmgmt. msc" into the search bar. Once I opened it, I reset all of the Intel network adapters. Then after running the troubleshoot, it would work. This got rather annoying,
however, since I had to do this every time my computer went to sleep.
I finally got my Ethernet port activated in my dorm and connected it to my laptop. This worked great. After a few days, I went home for Fall Break, and got my laptop connected to my home connection without a problem. Now, I can get connected to my school's connection easily. I think it was my school's weird network. For anyone else with this problem, maybe try going to a different WiFi hotspot to get connected.

Tried a corded phone on the Quiet Line test which made high-pitched bleeping noises (thinking that it might be broken). When I tried a cordless phone I could only hear a quiet static. Hope I've done that correctly,
